Charleston County School District is divided into eight Constituent Districts, as shown below. All of the eight districts educate about 42,725 students in fourty one Elementary Schools, thirteen Middle Schools, eight High Schools, twelve Magnet Schools (applications are required), seven Charter Schools, and seven programs. 

     Roughly eleven thousand students go to pricate and parochial schools in the Charleston area. Porter Gaud, Ashley Hall, and Bishop England are two of the most well known private schools in the Charleston, SC area.
